If you live in Merida, and would like to have books and DVDs purchased through Amazon.com delivered to you here in town, Casa Catherwood now provides this service.  For a small fee, we will deliver your purchases – any book or DVD available through Amazon – to you, right here in Merida.  The fee for this service is explained below, and we are delighted to be able to offer this economical service to Merida residents.

The cost is 50 pesos for the first item, and 15 pesos for each additional book or DVD. 

Here’s how it works.  Let’s say “John Doe” wants to purchase “Deliver Us from Evil” by David Baldacci, “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” by Michael Pollan and the DVD of “Julie & Julia” starring Meryl Streep.

1.       Click on the image above, and enter Amazon.com

2.      Select your purchases, placing them in the Shopping Cart

3.       Contact Casa Catherwood at info@casa-catherwood.com

4.      We will confirm the fee for this purchase: 50 pesos for the first item (Delivery Us from Evil), 15 pesos for the second item (The Omnivore’s Dilemma)and 15 pesos for the third time (Julie & Julia), for a total fee of $80 pesos

5.       Once you agree to this fee, we will send  you a shipping address in New York

6.      Then you can return to your Shopping Cart and write the “Ship to” as “John Doe, in care of Casa Catherwood” and the address provided

7.       When our regular shipment arrives from New York, usually every six weeks, we will contact you

8.      Your items will be awaiting for at Casa Catherwood in Centro

This represents significant savings in shipping.  In the example provided, the two books and DVD could be sent from Amazon.com to our New York offices free of charge, and then the only fee would be the $80 pesos, for delivery from New York to Merida.  Amazon.com will waive shipping fees for purchases of $25 USD or more sent to a single address in the United States.

Bottom line?  In the example shown, the entire cost of receiving those two books and DVD in Merida using Casa Catherwood would be $80 pesos (about $6.50 USD).
